You will learn how to choose suitable leaves for printing and how to prepare them to print with using disperse dyes and the heat press

We will prepare the leaves and backgrounds in the morning and after lunch print beautiful and often suprising designs onto fabric.

This workshop includes entry to the Arboretum and all materials.

You will have time to explore the Arboretum at lunch time and after the workshop , there is a cafe that can be used at lunchtime or bring your own lunch to enjoy amongst the trees.

Learn about the traditional craft of Indian Block Printing and enjoy this lovely venue.

We will start by looking at examples of hand carved printing blocks and fabric samples and using photos the history of block printing and the process involved will be explained.

After a demonstration you will have time to print on paper using the collection of blocks, we will think about repeat patterns, colour, design and combining blocks .

After lunch you will print a fabric piece to take home using your favourite blocks.
